Meet the Journalist
Get to know her better
Anthea J Cachia is a 22 year old journalist which has been working in the industry for the past four years. Aspiring to become a journalist has been a passion for her since the age of 5, gaining inspiration from books, novels, movies and her own aunt, which still to this day, she is still a journalist.

But for Anthea, the inspiration was not enough and so she decided to immerse herself in the journalism industry by working with other journalists and studying for her degree Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Journalism, at Mcast.

Anthea loves traveling the world to learn new cultures and reading books to take her to other worlds. In her free time she loves to go in a busy cafe with a coffee in one hand and a newspaper in the other.
Timeline of events
2016-2019
Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary
After her Matsec O-levels Anthea decided to study further on her favourite subjects - languages (French, English and Spanish). She also specified in environmental studies and sociology and History.
2018-2021
L-ORRIZZONT
During her studies Anthea got the opportunity to work for a local newspaper, belonging to Malta's biggest Trade Union - the General Workers Union. Here she spent 3 years being mentored by the journalists at Union print, publishing articles digitally and in print as well as building her network.
2019-2022
During her 3 year course Anthea worked on different setors of the industry exploring different types of journalism. Anthea also got the opportunity to attend the International Journalism Festival in Perugia and visit the European institutions in Brussels.
2021-Present
Her latest venture in the journalism industry started on October 2021, on the day of the Budget. Since then she expanded her netowrk, expanded on the genres of writing including analysis; social issues; political issues. During the time, Anthea also experienced her first general election where she juggled work and school.
